 TNPSC Group 1 is a recruitment exam conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). The recruitment exams for Group 1, 2, 3, and 4 vacancies are conducted each year to shortlist the most eligible candidates.


TNPSC Group 1 prelims exam 2021 was held on April 5 2021 and candidates who have qualified the prelims exam were eligible for the mains exam. The TNPSC Group 1 mains was held in July 2021.

TNPSC takes the Combined Civil Services Examination-I exam to recruit officers for Group 1 services in the Tamil Nadu state administration. This exam is also popular as TNPSC Group 1. TNPSC Group 1 exam is divided into three phases including Prelims exam, Mains exam, and Interview.

Candidates need to register at the official website for one-time registration and sign in using the same TNPSC login ID and password.

Candidates need to accurately mention details like name, educational qualification, post, and exam center preference, etc. while submitting the TNPSC Group 1 application form.

TNPSC Group 1 Posts and Salary Structure

The basic per month salary given to TNPSC Group 1 officers starts from Rs. 56100 (including TA, DA and HRA will be extra). The maximum salary offered to a cabinet secretary is Rs. 177500.
